10 pounds of fresh lion’s mane makes 1 pound of dried mushrooms.
We are out of USA wild lion’s mane unfortunately. I was a bad season, so we did not have much dried.
You cannot eat the USA lion’s mane; it is too woody once it is dried. You can eat the imported ones, but they are slightly bitter. Those are cultivated.
Hericiumerinaceus also called Lion’s Mane Mushroom, Satyr’s Beard, Bearded Tooth Mushroom, Bearded Hedgehog Mushroom, pompom mushroom, Bearded Tooth Fungus, or pom pom mushroom. The wild will have some debris from the woods. They are said to have medicinal value, but we cannot say anything about that due to legalities. We recommend you research the medicinal benefits though. Dried mushrooms will last for many years if you freeze as soon as you receive them. After opening, transfer into a freezer bag or food saver bag.
